Fiercely Desired Win For Camogie Seniors

Date Filed: 29 June 2017

This was a game Aghaderg wanted to win as Dromara had previously beaten them by a point. The game did not start well for Aghaderg and at times lacked excitement. Dromara were first to score but as Aghaderg settled into the game they defended superbly. With the breeze against us and a dominate Dromara mid field it was difficult to get the ball up to the forward line.

A great side line from Rachel Canniford to Sarah Malone who passed to Sinead Brackenbury to score a goal. This was followed by a determined Paula Priestley who scored her first goal and another point. Aghaderg took control towards the end of the first half with goal from Sinead and Katie Canniford.

Half time Aghaderg were in front by 2 points. A good talk from their manager at half time boosted the girls confidence. Dromara were no push over and ever ball was fought for Chloe McConville took a hit on her foot and had to be taken off and replaced by Caoimhe Morgan. As the wind was in our favour more goals and points ensued. No game is easy but our young team and indeed our club are proud of them.

Great defence from an outstanding Claire McGovern Rachel Canniford, Chloe McConville, Katie Lennon, Andrea Fletcher Laura Fletcher, Grainne Moran, Sarah Malone. Mid field, Sinead Brackenbury, Paula Priestley, Aine McNulty, Katie Canniford, Caoimhe Morgan, Clara Priestley, Dineen White.

Score Aghaderg 6-5 Dromara 3-9.

Well done girls.

Away to Attical next week.
