Championship begins for U-17 lads

The U-17s travelled to neighbours Saval tonight in the first round of their Championship. Determined to shake off the below par display from their league final the lads were asked for a positive response which they delivered in spades.
High workrate and running off the ball for each other saw the Derg men 1-5 to 1-2 up at half time.
The second half continued as the first with the reds playing against a stiff wind. Again the boys played hard and kept at it however Saval scored three very fortunate goals which sealed the result.
The game finished 4-6 to 2-8 to Saval.
Its not all about winning and everyone of the lads can be very satisfied with the hard working team display tonight.
