This Thursday night the An Dun Combined hurling team take on St Marys in the Mageean Cup Final.
The game is at 8.00 in Casement Park Belfast
For so many years Down Schools havent even fielded in the Mageean Cup let alone competed due to the large spread throughout the county.
The Combined team initiative has opened a door for the young players in the county to test themselves at the highest level in schools hurling further progressing the players within your clubs.
There are an awful lot of the "established" schools now complaining about An Dun being to strong etc & the young players in the county & your clubs are coming under pressure just for taking part.
They werent complaining last year when they were beating us well.
To date we have competed against the "Top" hurling schools and earned our right to be in this years final. These other schools however are able to rely on big support from their school mates & teachers etc.
Can I ask that for this one night could you round up the wagons & get support from the club out to support the boys.
They will wear Down colours but they will be representing their schools & their clubs.
Surely we can get a crowd from the club & Down that could match the support St Marys will have in Casement on Thursday night.
PLEASE PASS ON TO ALL CLUB CONTACTS..... ALL SUPPORT WILL BE NEEDED!!
