Our boys had a great time at the Collie Campbell tournament in Banbridge on Saturday.
Aghaderg were in a very tough group, with Clann Eireann, Drumgath, Errigal Ciaran, Mayobridge & Bredagh, some major football powers; this evident in that the winners of all 3 competitions came from it.
Despite difficult challenges in the early stages of the tournament, our boys turned it on when it really mattered. In the semi-final, we overcome Tir Na Og in driving wind & rain. In the final, we met Clann Eireann who had beaten us in the first group game. This was a titanic battle, which went to extra time. It was our brilliant defending, and ability to make & take goal opportunities, that meant Aghaderg were celebrating at the end. Big learnings are that true teamwork and playing smart, gives us best chance of success.
Well done to all the boys.
