A tough lesson for the home side in Ballyvarley last night against a sharp East Belfast side, who opened Ballyvarley up on several occasions for goals. They did most of the damage in the first half with three goals and fourteen points, against Ballyvarley 1-5 with Chrissy lennon scoring the Ballyvarley goal. Loose play and conceding frees were punished by the East Belfast side as their free taker made the most of every opportunity.
The second half saw the defense tighten somewhat and a second Chrissy lennon goal gave a glimmer of hope, but on the night the visitors were the better team.
