Portaferry 1-25 Ballyvarley 3-9
The senior hurlers made the long journey to Portaferry on Monday evening with several players missing they faced a strong Portaferry team. The home side had a number of their first team in key positions however Ballyvarley kept in touch through the first half. Played in excellent conditions for hurling this was a fast paced game which at times brought the best and worst out of the Ballyvarley team with no time on the ball any mistake was punished by Portaferry. Playing against the wind in the second half Ballyvarley hurled much better and closed the space down but ultimately were beaten by a faster accurate Portaferry team.
