Our Senior Camogie team hit the road early Saturday morning to take part in the annual Kilmacud 7s — a fantastic day out and a brilliant opportunity to face top teams from across the country.
In the group stages, we lined out against Naomh Olaf (Dublin) and St Mary’s Ahoghill (Antrim). A strong performance saw us claim a good win over Naomh Olaf before narrowly losing out to a tough St Mary’s side, who went on to reach the Shield Final.
In the knockout stages, we faced Myshall (Carlow) — a solid team who got the better of us and eventually went on to win the Shield.
Despite the on-field result, the girls had a great day, finishing it off with a well-earned meal in the Carrickdale followed by a night out to celebrate a hard-fought day’s camogie. Huge thanks to everyone who helped make the day possible — your support means everything and creates memories that last a lifetime.
Speaking of memories, we’ve also attached a special throwback to the 1992 Kilmacud 7s programme, when the Senior Camogs of the day represented the club. Don't miss the “Scandal and Gossip” section — you might spot a few familiar names! Amazingly, three of those players who were only teenagers at the time are now coaching our underage camogie stars — proof that the legacy is alive and well.
These are the days that build bonds, shape teams, and connect generations.
