United Youth Initiative Summer Camp

Our young people recently had the fantastic opportunity to take part in the United Youth Initiative Summer Camp, hosted at @banbridgehc and @aghaderggac_ballyvarleyhc .
This week-long programme was an amazing chance for participants to meet new friends, experience a variety of sports, and learn valuable skills around building and maintaining positive relationships.
The camp kicked off at Banbridge Hockey Club, where the group enjoyed sessions in hockey, soccer, and boxing. The excitement continued at Aghaderg Gac and Ballyvarley HC over the next two days, with the young people getting a taste of Gaelic games, volleyball, rugby, and more.
To top off a brilliant week, the group wrapped up the experience with a trip to Lurgaboy Adventure Centre. Here, they took part in archery, paddle boarding, canoeing, and even braved the skywalk – a true test of nerves.
We would like to extend a huge thank you to @healthykidz1 for giving us the opportunity to be part of this fantastic initiative. Special thanks also to Dearbhail O'Rourke for taking the lead in organising the camp on behalf of our club, and to all who helped make the week such a success.
Here’s hoping we get to do it all again next year!
