Our young Scór na nÓg team narrowly missed out on a top-three finish at the All-Ireland Final today. The team travelled to Dr Crokes GAA grounds this morning to compete for the All-Ireland title, taking part in 10 rounds of six questions.
Aghaderg/Ballyvarley were outstanding throughout the competition, delivering excellent scores in every round. They moved from 1st place to 2nd, and then to joint 3rd after the 9th round. Unfortunately, due to a remarking error, they were edged out of a podium position and finished 4th overall.
While there is understandable disappointment at finishing 4th for the second year in a row, the team should be immensely proud of themselves. Their scores were exceptional, they finished top of all Ulster teams, and 4th overall in Ireland — a huge achievement and something to be very proud of.
A special word of thanks to Conal. None of this would be possible without his dedication, guidance, and belief in the children. His confidence in them makes all the difference. We’ll be back again next year!
Finally, thank you to everyone who supported the team on their journey to Killarney.
These young people have made memories that will last a lifetime.
Well done to an incredible team!
