GOLDMARK INTRODUCTORY WORKSHOPS

20 January 2014

Ulster GAA, in association with IFA and IRFU (Ulster Branch), will host a round of GoldMark Introductory Workshops to promote the GoldMark Programme to young people involved in sports volunteering, aged between 14 and 24 years.

The workshop is open to young interested volunteers or clubs who would like to be involved, this will last no longer than 30 minutes. A full information pack will be provided at this training, and will mark the start of the GoldMark Programme for the young sports volunteers.

The GoldMark Scheme run by Volunteer Now recognises the volunteering efforts of young people in sport at three levels;
50 hours,
100 hours and
200 hours.

This scheme is recognised by Department of Education and will help young volunteers with their CV’s and college applications.
Hundreds of young GAA volunteers have already signed up for the GoldMark Programme, with many of them due to receive their certificates of award in March at a special awards ceremony. It is hoped these workshops will inspire many more young sports volunteers to gain official recognition for their efforts.

Clubs are asked to encourage their young volunteers from 14-24years to attend one of these information sessions.

Registration is essential for these workshops by emailing fionntan.odowd.ulster@gaa.ie with your name, club and email address.
