Damian Lennon Cycle Challenge

In memory of Damian Lennon, Aghaderg GAC/Ballyvarley HC presents the Damian Lennon Cycle Challenge, a sponsored cycle taking place on Sunday 28th May.
Last year Damian Lennon, a lifelong member of Aghaderg GAC/Ballyvarley HC, passed away and to honour his memory a sponsored cycle has been organised with the funds raised going towards the club and the Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund.
To ensure people of all ages and abilities can take part two routes have been organised for Sunday 28
th
May, the ‘On Yer Bike’ Challenge and the ‘HQ Challenge’.
‘On Yer Bike’ Challenge
This route will run from Scarva to Newry and back along the towpath, and comes in circa 30 miles. The event will start at 1pm at the Scarva Tea Rooms, with refreshments on arrival at Ballyvarley Hall. There is a fundraising target of £100.
‘HQ Challenge’
This route will run from Croke Park to Ballyvarley Hall, and comes in circa 86 miles. The event will start at 10am on Jones Road, Dublin, with refreshments on arrival at Ballyvarley Hall. There is a fundraising target of £300.
Participants who successfully complete their challenges will receive:
- Certificate
- Commemorative medal
- ‘Damian Lennon Cycle Challenge’ cycling jersey

A Registration Day will take place Sunday 2nd April at 5pm in Ballyvarley Hall.

All participants undertake the challenges at their own risk. GAA and club insurance will not cover this event. Those undertaking the HQ Challenge are encouraged to take out their own personal insurance.
