Mizen Head Co Cork to Malin Head in Co Donegal in four days..

26 August 2009

From Cork to Donegal.
On Sunday May 9th a group of 9 club members and friends arrived at the sports day after travelling 165 miles in two days from Thurles to Ballyvarley to mark the 125 years of the GAA.
Four members of this group Seamus McGrath, (Chairman) Seamus McGreevy, Moya Stewart and Liam McGrath are embarking on a slightly more challenging project on Thursday 27th August when they will attempt to cycle from Mizen Head Co Cork to Malin Head in Co Donegal in four days.. They have decided to raise funds for the Joshua Kyle Trust and in two days have had approx £1000 pledged . If you would like to support this worthy charity please contact either of the cyclists mentioned above.

Helping children with shortened life expectancy have a better quality of life.
This charity was set up in memory of Joshua- Kyle Rea who suffered from a rare genetic disorder and sadly passed away at nine months. The Trust's aim is to help children whose life expectancy is less than five years, primarily suffering form rare genetic disorders.
We provide equipment and luxury items such as small toys, soft furnishings etc. to enhance the child's quality of life.
Through these gifts, which may be used in hospital or at home, we want to give a better quality of life, comfort and hopefully some smiles!
Initially we will be working closely within 'Maynard Sinclair Ward' at the Ulster Hospital and 'Paul Ward', 'P.I.C.U.' at the Royal Hospital for Sick Children. As funds progress we hope to work with more hospitals in Northern Ireland.
