Night at the Races Report

The club’s annual Night at the Races fundraiser took place in Ballyvarley Hall on the evening of Friday 29 April.
 
Once again the club received great support from the local community with 10 races and 83 horses being sponsored. Unfortunately the turnout on the night itself was very disappointing with only about 40 people in attendance.
 
After a number of technical difficulties were sorted out the first 8 races were shown on the DVD projector the final two races being manual races, one for the ladies which was won by Ann Marie Moran and one for the gentlemen which was won by Ciaran Connelly.
 
The Club Committee would like to thank everyone who supported the event by sponsoring a race or a horse, those who bought tote tickets and those who turned up on the night itself. A lot of effort went in to the arrangements for the event and we would also like to thank the club members who took the lead in getting sponsorship, arranging the function and organising the bar.
 
The club welcomes and encourage players, club members and the local community to support social events in the hall. Without your continued support the club would not be able to provide the wide variety of activities it does.
 
The next major function at the club is the “Club Sports Day” which is scheduled to take place on 25 and 26 June. Hope to see you all there!
